(FERDINAND ADOLF VON ZEPPELIN) (1838-1917) German aviator and airship designer, constructed the first rigid airship which took his name. Rare original printed admission ticket to the "Luftschiffbau Zeppelin " [air ship Zeppelin], in German, 3-15/16 in. x 5-1/2 in., Friedrichshafen, Germany, undated [but 1929 or early 1930s]. Across the top of the ticket is imprinted "LUFTSCHIFFBAU ZEPPELIN G.M.B.H. / FRIEDRICHSHAFEN ", while below is: "EINTRITTSKARTE " [Ticket for Admission] with additional wording "TO LOADED SHIP " printed at a slant to the left followed by "for entering the Airport field and hangar of the Aircraft Zeppelin for departures or landings. Smoking and photographing within the airport territory is not permitted. Orders by employees must be complied with unconditionally. Entry to premises at ticket holder's risk. Valid only for...trip ". Stub, still attached at bottom right corner, states: "Not valid without this section ". On the face of the ticket is written in pencil the name "Dr. Wiederhold " and an approval or pass docket and a date "1/8 " at top right corner. Two mounting stains on verso, otherwise in very good condition. $350-450
