Good lot of five items signed by notable Union generals, includes: FRANKLIN S. NICKERSON (1826-1917), Union brigadier general of Maine troops serving primarily in Louisiana, repulsed Breckinridge's attack on Baton Rouge and was active in the Red River campaign. Signature ‘F.S. Nickerson' in black ink on 4.75 x 3.5 in. slip of paper, adding his rank ‘Brig. Gel. Comd. 3d Brigade 2d Div. 4th A. C.', with another hand adding ‘Port Hudson July 11 – 1863'. Shows mounting remnants on the verso, else very good. WITH: JOHN B. SANBORN, (1826-1904) Union brigadier general who fought at Vicksburg, Post Gibson, Champion's Hill, and many others. Later a U.S. Senator. Signature in black ink on a 5.5 x 1.75 in. slip of paper cut from a document, adding his rank ‘Brig. Genl. Com'd'. Shows folds, with archival tape residue at the top left and right, else very good. WITH: WILLIAM S. KETCHUM (1813–1871), Union brigadier general and inspector general who also headed Pennsylvania recruits at Harrisburg. Signature ‘W. Scott Ketchum' in black ink on a 5.25 x 1.5 in. slip of paper, adding his rank "Bvt. Maj. Genl'. Shows a pencil identifying inscription and archival tape residue on the verso, else very good to fine. WITH: ROBERT A. CAMERON (1828-1894), Union brigadier general, fought at New Madrid, Island No. 10 and in the Red River expedition. Bold signature ‘R. A. Cameron' in black ink on a 3 x 2 in. card, adding his rank ‘Brig. Gen. Vol.' Shows a pencil identifying inscription and archival tape residue on the verso, else very good. WITH: PATRICK H. JONES (1830–1900), Union brigadier general, twice injured, once at Chancellorsville which led to his capture and five-month imprisonment, and again during the Battle of Rocky Face Ridge. Jones led forces at Chancellorsville, Chattanooga, during the Atlanta and Carolinas Campaigns, and the March to the Sea. Signature ‘P. H. Jones' in black ink on a 3 x 1.5 in. slip of paper, adding ‘late Colonel 154 Regt N. Y. Vols'. Shows a pencil identifying inscription and adhesive residue on the verso, else very good. Five pieces.
