Good lot of ten items signed by Union brevet generals of the Civil War, includes: ROBERT MILLER HENDERSON (1827-1909), partly-printed D.S., 1p. 4to., "Camp Near Falmouth", May 16, 1862, certifying the discharge of Pvt. Charles A. Spicer from the 7th Pennsylvania Volunteers for "Chronic Rheumatism". Henderson signs at the conclusion in black ink. Shows original folds with some mounting remnants to the verso, else very good. WITH: THOMAS J. HENDERSON (1824-1911), signature in black ink on a 4 1/2" x 2 1/2" slip of paper cut from a letter, adding "Rep. 6th Cong. Dist. Ills." The slip is affixed to a period 8vo. sheet with a biographical inscription, else very good. WITH: WILLIAM W. HENRY (1831-1915), partly-printed D.S., 1p. oblong 8vo., Burlington, Sep. 17, 1879, a check from the Merchants National Bank of Burlington, paying a George A. Conner $1.52. Henry signs at bottom right in black ink, with another individual countersigning. Shows a small holes at center with a narrow band of toning, else very good. WITH: ANDREW HICKENLOOPER (1837-1904), A.L.S., 1p. 8vo., Cincinnati, Oct. 26, 1882, to an illegibly-named general, transmitting the text of a telegraph mentioning "Genl. [John] Pope". He signs at the conclusion in black ink. Toned at the bottom edge, with original mailing folds, else very good. WITH: GEORGE H. HITCHCOCK (1838-1919), A.N.S., 1p. oblong 8vo., [n.p.], Aug. 31, 1864, to a Capt. Parkinson, in full: "I will have target practice from Monitor Car to-morrow at 10 o'clock A.M." He signs at the conclusion in black ink, adding his signature "Lt. Col. Comd'g". Shows mounting remnants to the verso and original folds, else very good. WITH: SAMUEL B. HOLABIRD (1826-1907), partly-printed D.S., 1p oblong folio, New Orleans, June [n.d.], 1863 a report of persons hired at New Orleans in that month. Holabird signs at the conclusion in black ink as Chief Quartermaster of the Dept. of the Gulf. Shows two notable tears at top left with a mounting remnant to the verso, else very good. WITH: JOSEPH HOWLAND (1834-1886), A.L.S., 4pp. 8vo., Matteawan, Dec. 12, 1863, to a Col. Edwards of the 5th Maine Vols., in regards to a testimonial for anther officer and the repair of a watch by Tiffany & Co. He signs at the conclusion in black ink. Shows some soiling and mild foxing overall, else very good. WITH: CHARLES H. HOYT (1829-1898), A.L.S., 1p. 8vo., Washington, D.C., Feb. 21, 1889, to Gen. Henry M. Cist, requesting a copy of a pamphlet released by the Society of the Army of the Cumberland. He signs at the conclusion in black ink. Shows an original mailing fold, else very good. WITH: HENRY M. HOYT (1830-1892), A.L.S.. 1p. 8vo., Harrisburg, June, 11, 1881, to an A.J. Drexel, accepting an invitation for an appointment. He signs at the conclusion in black ink. Shows slight toning and mounting remnants to the verso, else very good. WITH: SAMUEL B. HAYMAN (18220-1895), partly-printed D.S., 1p. oblong folio, [n.p.], Aug. 11, 1863, an inventory and inspection report listing a variety of artillery shot and shells, with a note that they be disposed of as serviceable. Hayman signs at the conclusion in black ink,. Shows original folds with a split at the center junction, with minor toning, else very good. Ten pieces.
