Good lot of ten items signed by Union brevet generals of the Civil War, includes: SAMUEL HARRIMAN (1826-1897), bold signature in black ink on a 7" x 3" slip cut from a letter, adding a salutation and his rank "Col. Comdg. 1st. Brig. 1st. Div. 9th A.C." Mounted to a backing card, else very good. WITH: BENJAMIN F. HARRIS (?-1895), partly-printed D.S., 1p. 4to., "Camp Near Bell Plains", Jan. 31, 1863, a requisition form for forage for horses. Harris signs at the conclusion in black ink, adding his rank "Maj. 6th Me. Vols.", and signs again at bottom acknowledging receipt of the requested supplies. Shows folds and slight toning to the edges, else very good. WITH: JACOB B. HARDENBURGH (1831-1892), partly-printed D.S., 1p. 4to., Culpeper Court House, Oct. 3, 1863, a "special requisition" for a variety of writing supplies. Hardenbauch signs three times at the conclusion (one struck through), and adds his signature a fourth time as part of a docket on the verso. Inset into a paper boarder, shows original folds and ink spots, else very good. WITH: JOHN H. HAMMOND (1833-1890), interesting content A.N.S, 1p. oblong 8vo., Louisville, Oct. 1, 1864, to a Col. Andrews on the staff of Gen. Stephen Burbridge, in full: "Is the man who stole the coat to be left in office here - Come down with authority to act." Hammond signs at the conclusion in black ink. Shows three minute holes, folds and toning to the edges, else very good. WITH: JOHN HAMMOND (1827-1889), partly-printed D.S., 1p. 4to., Harpers Ferry, July 4, 1862, certifying the discharge of Pvt. George Black for disability. Hammond signs at the conclusion in black ink, adding his rank "Capt.", and also executed his name "J Hammond" in the body of the document. Shows original folds, else very good. WITH: PETER V. HAGNER (1815-1893), manuscript L.S., 1p, 8vo., Watervliet Arsenal, Aug. 23, 1865, to "Messrs. W. & L.E. Gurley", transmitting and requesting that they repair a bubble level. He signs at the conclusion in black ink. Shows original folds, else very good. WITH: EDWARD B. GRUBB (1841-1913), signature in black ink on a 4" x 1 3/4" bond coupon issued by the City or Burlington, New Jersey. Toned along a fold at top, else very good. WITH: CHARLES H. GROSVENOR (1833-1917), manuscript L.S., 1p. 4to., Washington, D.C., June 28, 1886, to New Hampshire senator Henry W. Blair, transmitting a letter from another correspondent, (not present), and requesting that the Senator send him something which might "...answer this young man's wants." He signs at the conclusion in black ink. Shows original mailing folds and a chip to the bottom left corner, else very good. WITH: RUSH C. HAWKINS (1831-1920), manuscript D.S., 1p. 4to. New York, April 14, 1870, a later duplicate of a receipt for "Forty Springfield Rifled Muskets", originally delivered May 8, 1861. Hawkins signs at the conclusion in black ink, adding his rank "... Col. 9th N.Y.V." Shows original folds with slight chips to the left edge, ragged at the top edge, else very good. WITH: WILLIAM GLENNY (1831-1900), partly-printed D.S., 1p. 4to., "near Alexandria", July [n.d.], 1865, a "Special Requisition" form for a variety of clothing and blankets. Glenny signs at the conclusion in black ink, adding his rank "Lieutenant Col." Shows original folds with toning to the left edge, else very good. GEORGE W. GILE (1830-1896), manuscript L.S., 1p, 4to., Jacksonville, Dec. 30, 1869, to a Lt. Col. J.W. Nichols, transmitting his monthly pay account (not present), and requesting that it be forwarded to his wife. He signs at the conclusion in black ink. Shows folds, a few spots of soiling and mounting remnants to the verso, else very good. Ten pieces.
