1078. HIDEKI TOJO (1884 - 1948) Japanese political and military leader, as Premier he ordered the attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941, remained militaristic for the entire war, finally executed following the Tokyo War Crimes trials. Rare S.P. 4 1/4" x 6" b/w, a seated image of Tojo seated as he smokes a pipe while in Tokyo awaiting trial. Signed twice, in English and Japanese characters. A few very light surface wrinkles, otherwise boldly signed and very good. Sold with twelve 4 1/2" x 6" b/w photos of proceedings at the 1947 Tokyo War Crimes Trials, almost all showing the defendants and/or judges presiding over the cases. Thirteen pieces. $400 - 500
