QUINCY ADAMS GILLMORE
(1825 - 1888) Union major general who fought at Bermuda Hundred and Drewry's Bluff. He was severely injured pursuing Jubal Early in the Shenandoah Valley. A.L.S. 1p. 8vo., Charleston, Mar. 3, 1873, to an unnamed gentleman, in part: "...I enclose check for $50. as requested. I have not heard any thing directly about [?] case, but I am very anxious about it having learnt through Van Nostrand, that apprehension or rather expectations are entertained by the authorities at the Point [?]that a severe sentence may be the result.... Very good.

Shipment is sent USPS priority, USPS International Express (for most overseas) or UPS Ground at the auctioneer's option, signature required, unless other arrangements are made.
