RUSH C. HAWKINS
(1831 - 1920) Union brevet brigadier general who raised the 9th NY Vols. ("Hawkin's Zouaves") and played an important part in the capture of Hatteras Inlet, Roanoke and Winton. A pair of A.L.S.'s, the first 1p. 8vo., "Friday", [n.d. but docketed 1911 at bottom], to a customs brokerage firm, in part: "...Inclosed is cheque and bills and not inclosed, my thanks for your official attention and reasonable charges...". Along with a second A.L.S. 1p. 8vo., "Saturday", [n.d.], to the same firm sending some information. Very good condition, two pieces.

Shipment is sent USPS priority, USPS International Express (for most overseas) or UPS Ground at the auctioneer's option, signature required, unless other arrangements are made. Handling, shipping and insurance charges will be added to the invoice in one entry. Buyer's should be aware that large, framed, fragile or odd shaped items can incur substantial shipping and packing charges. Customer's who supply their own courier account number will still be charged a handling fee.
