NAPOLEON DEATH MASK
NAPOLEON BONAPARTE (1769 - 1821) The "Little Corporal" whose brilliance in the field of battle and as Emperor of France has made him perhaps the most important figure of post-Renaissance Europe. An interesting plastic death mask of Napoleon, measures 14" tall x 7" thick, engraved on side: "Fondu par L. Richard et Quesnel a Paris". The firm Richard et Quesnel was founded in 1826 by Louis-Marie Richard and engraver Edouard Quesnel and specialized in bronze works. The mask bears a stamp on the stem reading: "Napoleon Emperor Roi Souscription d'Autommarch 1833". Fine condition, a modern casting.

Shipment is sent USPS priority, USPS International Express (for most overseas) or UPS Ground at the auctioneer's option, signature required, unless other arrangements are made.
