MARTIN VAN BUREN
(1782 - 1862) Eighth President of the United States, Secretary of State and a close ally of Andrew Jackson. Partly-printed D.S. "M Van Buren" as President, 1p. folio parchment, Washington, Nov. 18, 1837, a scallop-top ship's paper issued to the ship Clifford Wayne under the command of Charles Downs, laden with 304 tons, no guns and navigated by 25 men. Co-signed by JOHN FORSYTH as Secretary of State. With paper sea, usual folds and light soiling, very good condition.

Shipment is sent USPS priority, USPS International Express (for most overseas) or UPS Ground at the auctioneer's option, signature required, unless other arrangements are made. Customer's who supply their own courier account number will still be charged a handling fee.
