(KANSAS CITY MASSACRE) FRANK NASH
FRANK ‘JELLY' NASH (1887–1933) American bank robber, called ‘the most successful bank robber in U.S. history.' He is most noted for his violent death in the Kansas City Massacre. Nash was wanted for escaping from Leavenworth on Oct. 19, 1930. The day after his capture, ‘Pretty Boy' Floyd and other accomplices would try to rescue him from several police officers, but he would be killed in the crossfire, along with several of his captors. REPRODUCTION of a Bureau of Investigation ‘wanted' poster, 8 in. square, Mar. 21, 1932, bears his facsimile signature, aliases, previous crimes, and the crime for which he is wanted by the BOI, a prison escape. Nash was apprehended in a local store in Hot Springs on June 16, 1933. Moderate toning, with a small hole near the top.
