Description:

Jimi Hendrix Shrine Auditorium First Printing Concert Poster, 1968
One of John Van Hamersveld's most well-known works of pop art is gloriously reproduced on this exceedingly rare, first printing poster advertising Jimi's appearance at LA's Shrine Auditorium on Feb. 10, 1968, along with Soft Machine, The Electric Flag and Blue Cheer. Having experienced amplifier problems at several shows leading up to the Shrine gig, The Experience had their new Sunn Amplifiers make their debut at the afternoon sound check. The icon image exhibits moderate corner wear, a series of 8" long wrinkles to the lower right-hand border area, 9" diagonal crease to the upper left corner area, some minor edge wear and barely discernable corner staple holes. The 19.5" x 27.5" poster displays extremely well, and it's further enhanced by being housed in an elaborate 27" x 35" frame; triple-matted with UV glass to museum standards.
