Description:

Jimi Hendrix "Winter Festival For Peace" Program Sheet & Stub, 1970
This Madison Square Garden appearance on behalf of the Vietnam Moratorium Committee proved to be the final Band of Gypsy's gig. After appearances by, among others, Richie Havens, The Rascals, and Harry Belafonte, Hendrix took the stage at 3 AM Thursday morning and according to insiders, someone slipped Jimi two tabs of acid. Jimi himself related "I was very tired. Sometimes, there's a lot of things that add up in your head...and they might hit you at a very peculiar time, which happened to be at the Peace Rally...I'd been fighting the biggest war I ever fought. In my life. Inside, you know? And, like, that wasn't the best place to do it." The show was stopped several songs in. A very scarce program sheet and stub! 8.5" x 14" with multiple folds, considerable creasing and paper aging. Stub is stapled to top left of program sheet.
