Description:

[ Autographs ] WILLIAM FEW (1748 - 1828) Signer of the Constitution, lieutenant colonel during the American Revolution. Scarce good content D.S. "W. Few", 1p. legal folio, Savannah, Aug. 25, 1790, a legal document certifying that Spanish Vice Consul Emanuel Rengil had appeared before him and had received a report that a mob had "... removed from a Wharf in this Harbour the Spanish Schooner Maria, carried and totally destroyed her by fire about a mile up the river, stamped, tore and threw into the [?] the Spanish Flag...treated in thecruelest manner her whole crew...said Thomas Smith, with other persons did actually burn and destroy the aforementioned Schooner...". Boldlysigned by Few at bottom, and by the Spanish vice consul as well. Slight foxing at upper-right, otherwise very good.
