[ Autograph ] Franklin Pierce A.L.S. "Frank", 2pp. 4to., Concord, June 17, 1844 to his wife and future First Lady Jane Pierce. Pierce urges his wife to visit Boston, adding: "...Enjoy the society of the dear friends with the conviction that there is nothing that need hurry your return I think I shall be obliged to give up the idea of going to the sea shore or any where else during the Summer. Dear little Benny is perfectly well The business of the Office and engagements before the Committees of the Legislation have for the last ten days been more than I could desire It occurs to me that you must be out of cash & I therefore send a draft for fifty dollars..." More good family content. One clean one inch tear intrudes into text, otherwise very good.
