Description:

ANDREW JACKSON
A.D.S. as President, 1p., oblong 12mo., Washington, September 10, 1833. Jackson, in an excellent example of his spoils system, fires Gen. Samuel Milroy from a Land Office post and replaces him with Charles Tyler: "I appoint --- Tyler, Register for the Land Office at Crawfordsville Indiana- [illeg.] Genl Milroy removed Septbr 10th, 1833". Boldly signed "Andrew Jackson". Johnson exhibited a wide swath of presidential power on September 10, 1833, a day in which he also began proceedings in Cabinet to abolish the Second Bank of the United States. Fine.
