AMERICAN REVOLUTION A good group of four pieces including EDWARD HAND (1744-1802), scarce A.L.S. 1p. oblong 12mo., Lancaster, July 22, 1799 to a mercantile firm noting the safe receipt of some goods and adding: "...I am sorry you have been so long unpaid. I am at a loss to convey the money, will you, or can you conveniently draw on my here for the Amt. or instruct me how to send it to you...". Mounting strip at left margin, small loss not affecting text. Offered with WILLIAM MOULTRIE (1730-1805), A.D.S. 1p. oblong 8vo., [Charleston], Apr. 9, 1787, noting receipt "...from the Commissioners of the Treasurers ten pounds on Acct Salary Willm. Moultrie"; JAMES CLINTON (1733-1812), A.D.S. 1p. oblong 8vo., [n.p.] Mar. 3, 1789 concerning a land claim in western New York: "...I Do hereby Locate the following Lot of Land Beginning where the North Bounds of the Town of Chemung Crosses the Cattetont Branch of the Oswego River...So as to Contain to Hundred Acres of Land and I Do hereby with drawing my Location Made on the all ill at Montgomery town and Apply the Class right of two Hundred Acres Left in your hands for that purpose..."; and GEORGE CLINTON (1739-1812) A.D.S. 1p. oblong 8vo., [n.p.] May 31, 1800; "Receive of Gilbert Livingston Esqr. by Capt Robert North five hundred dollars on Account..." .
