Description:

YOUNG SOCIALIST ALLIANCE PROPAGANDA POSTERS
Pair of posters issued by the Young Socialist Alliance, New York, ca. 1968, each about 17" x 22. The Young Socialist Alliance (YSA) was a Trotskyist youth group of the Socialist Workers Party, founded in 1960. The YSA achieved substantial influence in the anti-Vietnam War movement, including near complete control over the Student Mobilization Committee to End the War in Vietnam, a national campus organization with a peak membership of some 100,000. One poster depicts Che Guevara and quotes him: "Wherever death may surprise us, let it be welcome if our battle cry has reached even one receptive ear...", the second reading:"VIVA CUBA Territorio Libre de America". Both posters are mounted to heavy board, marginal chips, somewhat worn.
