WYATT S. EARP
(1848 - 1929) American frontier lawman and gunfighter, with two of his brothers and Doc Holliday fought the legendary gun battle with the Clanton and McLaury brothers at the O.K. Corral on October 26, 1881. Fine content manuscript D.S. "W. S. Earp", 4pp. legal folio, Burton Co., Mo., Feb. 26, 1870, his deposition in a murder case or inquest, the death having occurred only two days earlier, taken as a witness for the State in the State of Missouri vs. Thomas L. Brown. Earp testifies that he viewed a dead man in front of Brown's door with bullet wounds in his neck and back. Earp relates that Brown told him that the deceased attempted to enter his house and failed to halt, and also describes how the door of the house had been lifted from its hinges. Boldly signed, and in near fine condition.
