WWII CANADIAN ACE MARK HENRY "HILLY" BROWN
(1911-1941) Canadian-born RAF pilot revered as Canada's first ace of World War II, also credited as the first Allied pilot of that war to fly a captured German plane (Me109). Won the Distinguished Flying Cross in France, and was KIA over Sicily in November, 1941 during the Defense of Malta. Fine relic representing the military career of Brown, his complete Royal Air Force dress mess uniform: tunic, vest, trousers and Wellington boots, all signed "M.H. Brown" at inner tags. The blue tunic is complete with all buttons, RAF device on lapel, and gold trim cuffs. Hilly Brown flew with No. 1 Squadron, joining the group in 1937 and eventually commanding it. He received an additional bar to DFC, France's Croix de Guerre, and the Czech Military Medal and Military Cross. Brown, at the time of this death, had been credited with 19.5 kills in total. From the personal collection of World War II and Civil War historian Michael Miner. Miner's thirty-year collection was built through an extensive system of contacts he developed with artifact hunters and diggers in Europe and the Far East, and he maintained careful records of the items he amassed.

Shipment is sent USPS priority, USPS International Express (for most overseas) or UPS Ground at the auctioneer's option, signature required, unless other arrangements are made. Handling, shipping and insurance charges will be added to the invoice in one entry. Buyer's should be aware that large, framed, fragile or odd shaped items can incur substantial shipping and packing charges. Customer's who supply their own courier account number will still be charged a handling fee.
