Description:

WOUND BADGE AWARDED TO MEMBER OF THE L.S.A.H.
Partly-printed D.S., 1p. 8vo., [n.p.], Aug. 3, 1944, awarding the Wound Badge in Black to SS-Mann Erwin Busse who served with the 1st SS Panzer Division Leibstandarte SS Adolf Hitler. Folds and a bit soiled, still very good. With Busse's discharge certificate, 2pp. 4to., Hamburg, Germany, Jan. 9, 1948. This certificate is printed in both English and German and bears the ink stamp of the Allied discharging officer on the verso. It seems probable that Busse like many of his fellow soldiers was captured by the Allies in Germany at the end of the war and due to his position in the SS was held for a time until no longer deemed a threat. The document is in rough shape with several tears at the folds, toned, and reinforced with tape on the verso at the center fold.
