Description:

WORLD WAR II SOUVENIR CLOGS
A pair of small well-worn wooden clogs painted by an American G.I. in remembrance of regiments who served during the D-Day invasion. The left clog is painted: "111th F.A. Bn D-Day Germany" in blue and red paint, indicating the 111th Field Artillery Regiment which landed on Omaha Beach on June 6, 1944. The right clog reads: "29th Inf. Div D-Day Scotland", thus referring to a regiment of the 29th (116th Infy.) which also landed on Omaha Beach. Original paint is chipped and cracking, just good condition. Perhaps worthy of further research?
