"WOMEN OF THE KU KLUX KLAN" EPHEMERA
Good lot of four items of ephemera, all related to the Women of the Ku Klux Klan, circa 1920's. Includes: Printed document, 1p. oblong 8vo., an "Application for Admission to the Second Degree, Invisible Empire, Women of the Ku Klux Klan", in blank, with spaces for the signature of the applicant, the "Excellent Commander" and "Realm Commander", and the "Klokann" (local advisory board). WITH: "Printed document, 1p. oblong 12mo., a blank notice informing the recipient that they have been granted membership in the Women of the Ku Klux Klan, and ordering them to report for "naturalization" (induction). With a space for the signature of the "Kligrapp" (secretary). WITH: An unused gold foil seal, approx. 2" dia., showing the shield insignia of the Women of the Ku Klux Klan at center, as well as the chapter "Klan No. 2 Springfield Ohio". Around the edge appears the inscription "Women of the Ku Klux Klan - City of Homes Klan". WITH: Printed card, 3"x 4", bearing three dictates for incoming Klanswomen, likely issued as part of an induction oath, in part: "...To keep peace and harmony in Klonklave; to guard the secrets of the Klan, and to heed well all instructions... The crowning glory of a Klanswoman is to serve... To refrain from discussing the affairs of the Klan in the hearing of strangers or aliens. A Klanswoman keeps the inner affairs of the Klan strictly to herself." The paper items all show slight toning and folds, while the seal is in fine, unused condition. Four pieces.

Shipments are sent via USPS Priority, USPS International Priority, DHL (for most overseas shipments) or FedEx Ground at the auctioneer's option, signature is always required, unless other arrangements are made. Handling and shipping charges will be added to the invoice in one entry. Buyers should be aware that large, framed, fragile or odd shaped items can incur substantial shipping and packing charges. International shipments are invoiced by DIMENSIONAL weight, not the item weight. Please contact us for an estimate before bidding NOTE: Large, heavy or bulky items may not be shipped by the auctioneer - arrangements for shipping of these items via a third-party shipper may be arranged through the auction house. Customers who supply their own courier account number will still be charged a handling fee. Please allow 2-3 weeks for shipments after receipt of payment due to the high volume of packages being shipped.
