WOMEN OF THE KU KLUX KLAN ARCHIVE
Large and important grouping of material from the Women of the Ku Klux Klan chapter located at Altoona, Pa., all ca. 1925. These items, from the files of the KKK chapter''s secretary, include a wide range of material: an original 4 1/2" x 2 3/4" photo of dozens of robed Klansmen and Klanswomen in a parade formation on a field, with stamped signature of the club secretary on verso; four original membership cards, two signed by recipients; a ledger showing names and dues collected from 1926-29, with additional mention of a "robe transfer"; 1923 national Constitution and By-Laws of the W.K.K.K.; numbered "Kloran" setting forth meeting procedure; blank pledge card, three "Ku Klux Kreed" handouts with flag and vow to be true to "White Supremacy"; small group of promotional palm cards; promotional booklet, 16pp.; seven received letters and retained copies of sent letters, one on W.K.K.K. letterhead; and most impressive: a bill for "cotton...lumber...poultry wire...guy wire" sent from a Klan member to the women, these materials donated for use in fabricating: "...the beutiful cross, which was burned on the hill, at our first outdoor demonstration..." as mentioned in retained carbon thank you letter. Overall very good.

Shipments are sent via USPS Priority, USPS International Priority, DHL (for most overseas shipments) or FedEx Ground at the auctioneer's option, signature is always required, unless other arrangements are made. Handling and shipping charges will be added to the invoice in one entry. Buyers should be aware that large, framed, fragile or odd shaped items can incur substantial shipping and packing charges. International shipments are invoiced by DIMENSIONAL weight, not the item weight. Please contact us for an estimate before bidding NOTE: Large, heavy or bulky items may not be shipped by the auctioneer - arrangements for shipping of these items via a third-party shipper may be arranged through the auction house. Customers who supply their own courier account number will still be charged a handling fee. Please allow 2-3 weeks for shipments after receipt of payment due to the high volume of packages being shipped.
