WILLIAM SHIPPEN
(1712-1801) Philadelphia physician and member of the Continental Congress. Manuscript D.S. 1p. large folio on parchment, Philadelphia, Feb. 21, 1731, a deed for a plot of land in Southwark sold by Shippen to Peter Cook, both of whom sign at the lower right corner. The document also bears two A.E.S. of SAMUEL BLAIR (1741-1818) Presbyterian minister and Chaplain of the United States House of Representatives from 1790 to 1792. The first endorsement appears at the bottom recto and the other on the verso. Light foxing, expected folds with only slight cockling, else very good.
