WILLIAM PENN
(1644 - 1718) English Quaker, religious reformer and colonist, a framer of the Pennsylvania Charter of 1677 who received the grant of Pennsylvania from Charles II in 1681. Scarce manuscript D.S. 1p. oblong folio, Philadelphia, June 6, 1684. A land grant for "...Lott of land in Philad...", signed in full at bottom. Countersigned by future Chief Justice of Pennsylvania DAVID LLOYD and Lieutenant Governor THOMAS LLOYD". Expected folds, very light fading, otherwise very good condition. Less than two months after signing this document, Penn would depart for England for a brief business trip, remaining there for political reasons for more than 15 years.

Shipment is sent USPS priority, USPS International Express (for most overseas) or UPS Ground at the auctioneer's option, signature required, unless other arrangements are made.
