WILLIAM BURROUGHS FUNERAL ANNOUNCEMENT
(1914 - 1997) American beat author of numerous works, best remembered for his explosive novel Naked Lunch. A rather bizarre item befitting of the avant-garde writer, his printed funeral announcement, Aug. 6, 1997, a folded card bearing a photograph of Burroughs on the cover with the printed phrase in his hand below: "Old man of letters embalmed in Cats and roses", while the interior left page is printed with a quote from Burroughs at top left: "Aug. 1, 1997 Love? What is it? Most natural pain-killer. What there is. LOVE". Framed with the cover of the card at top, and copy of the interior at bottom. Fine condition.
