Bainbridge", 1p, 4to., St. Petersburg, [Oct. 30], 1811, to William Jones in Philadelphia, in part: "...Referring you to my several letters written since my arrival here. I have only to inform you that owing to an immense supply of Colonial produce...it is impossible to effect sales at present. I shall ship for your account on board the Lion the contents at bottom and expect...she will leave...in the course of 2 weeks...". With an itemized list of the goods at the lower margin, and attached integral address leaf. Written while Bainbridge was sailing the merchant ship Lion to and from St. Petersburg. Letters from Bainbridge, particularly later in his career, sometimes appear in the marketplace, but those documenting his brief merchant career are quite unusual. Chipped at the top and right side with loss of a few words of text, fold splits, else about good .
