35. MESHECH WEARE (1713-1786) First president of the State of New Hampshire, active in recruiting soldiers to oppose Burgoyne's advance into New York in 1777. A.D.S. at the conclusion of a deposition, with integral leaf bearing a seven line docket also signed by Weare, 2pp. large 4to., Hampton, Oct. 9, 1757, seven lines attesting to the fact that the foregoing deposition had been given before him "after due caution [had been] made.." The deposition, signed by one Jonathan Marston, concerns the boundaries of a tract of land. Very good. $250-350
