WALLIS, DUCHESS OF WINDSOR
(1896 - 1986) American divorcee whose romantic liaison with King Edward VIII resulted in his abdication of the throne "...for the woman I love...". Lot of two pieces, the first a souvenir copy of Edward's abdication as told in The Deseret News in 1936, 1p. 4to., with a First Day of Issue "Love" stamp affixed at bottom along with a cancellation stamp Philadelphia, Jan. 26, 1973. Boldly signed: "Wallis, Duchess of Windsor" at left. Along with a souvenir copy of Edward's Instrument of Abdication, 1p. 4to., also with a First Day of Issue "Love" stamp at bottom, cancelled Phil. Jan. 26, 1973. Similarly signed at lower right. Two pieces, fine.
