Description:

UNIVERSAL M-1 CARBINE
M-1 .30 caliber semi-automatic military style carbine made by Universal, Hialeah, Fl. which retained the overall outward appearance and ammunition of the U.S. M1 Carbine, but the internal design and parts were a hybrid replica of the M1 carbine. Barrel 18 inches, length 35.5 in. overall, sights: fixed front, adjustable rear peep sight marked 'I.R. CO.', the stock made of American walnut. With selector safety and magazine release button, blued fittings, green web sling and blued military magazine marked 'U'. Serial no. 65772. This rifle appears to have never been fired, sold with unopened envelope containing 'base mount and screws' and original box from Universal with Montgomery Ward label. A fine commercial NIB example.
