Union Soldier's Letter Union soldier's letter, 4pp. 8vo., Crockett Station, Tn., Oct. 27, 1862 Lewis Stickel writes a lady friend: below Corinth where they are now fortifying and expecting a battle there are one thousand cavalry fifteen miles from this place... their intention is to burn this bridge and trestle work... trestle work was set on fire the other day by someone... there were some Rebel cavalry that did the damage a gang of them seen in the neighborhood by some negroes .
