Good lot of four items signed by Union generals of the Civil War, includes: JOSEPH R. WEST (1822-1898) Union brigadier general crucial in the recapture of New Mexico, serving the balance of the war in the Gulf. A.N.S. "J.R. West" on a 5" x 2 1/2" slip of paper apparently cut from the conclusion of a printed form, in full: "Dear Maj. Same as last edition, though don't call me J. Rodman West, I am simply yrs truly..." He signs at the conclusion in black ink, in addition to executing his name in the text. Shows pencil marks, with a small tear and slight toning to the edges, else very good. WITH: CADWALLADER C. WASHBURN (1818-1882) Union major general who led three divisions in Grant's siege and ultimate capture of Vicksburg. Bold signature "C.C. Washburn" in black ink on a 6 1/2" x 3 3/4" sheet removed from the conclusion of a letter, adding three words as a salutation. Shows original folds and slight toning, else very good. WITH: HECTOR TYNDALE (1821-1880) Union general who was wounded twice and had three horses shot from beneath him at Antietam. Signature in black ink on a 3 3/4" x 1 1/2" slip of paper cut from an envelope, adding his rank "Brig. Genl. U.S.A.", and with partial stamp and post-mark. Very good. WITH: CHARLES H. VAN WYCK (1824-1895) Union brigadier general who served throughout the war in operations around Charleston. Bold signature "C.H. Van Wyck" in black ink as a free frank on a 5 1/2" x 3" envelope, post-marked Washington with the date Jan. 22, 1862, and addressed to the wife of a fellow general in another hand. Ragged at the right edge where opened, with a 2" tear from the bottom edge affecting the address, and with additional minor chips, foxing and soiling, else very good. Four pieces.

Shipments are sent via USPS Priority, USPS International Priority, DHL (for most overseas shipments) or FedEx Ground at the auctioneer's option, signature is always required, unless other arrangements are made. International shipments are invoiced by DIMENSIONAL weight, not the item weight.
