Good lot of ten items signed by Union brevet generals of the Civil War, includes: JOHN C. KELTON (1828-1893), A.L.S., 1p. 8vo., Washington, D.C., April 30, 1863, to the Adjutant General of Rhode Island, acknowledging receipt of his annual report. He signs at the conclusion in black ink. Shows original mailing folds, else very good. WITH: CHARLES L. KILBURN (1819-1899), A.L.S., 1p. 8vo., Cincinnati, April 12, 1862, acknowledging the receipt of a letter and check. He signs at the conclusion in black ink. Shows some brushing to the body and slight toning, else very good. WITH: ADAM E. KING (1837-1910), printed D.S., 1p. 4to., Baltimore, May 4, 1866, reprinting special orders related to two privates. King signs at the conclusion in black ink. Toned at the edges with chips to the bottom edge, else very good. WITH: WILLIAM S. KING (1818-1882), E.S. on a partly-printed D.S., 1p. oblong 4to., Fort Richardson, April [n.d.], 1863, a "Requisition for Fuel" for a company of the 4th Massachusetts Volunteers. King adds his vertical signature in black ink to an approval stamp at bottom left. Shows original folds and slight toning, else very good. WITH: EUGENE A. KOZLAY (1826-1883), A.L.S., 1p. 4to., [n.p.], Oct. 19, 1865, to an unnamed lieutenant, acknowledging receipt of his letter and advising him not to pursue a captaincy at the present. He signs at the conclusion in black ink, adding his rank "Col." Shows scattered foxing overall, else very good. WITH: WILLIAM J. LANDRAM (1828-1895), printed D.S., 1p. oblong folio, Kentucky, [n.d.], an otherwise blank tax form for tobacco. Landram signs in black ink at lower right. Shows numerous punch cancels not affecting the signature, else very good. WITH: WILLIAM G. LEDUC (1823-1917), E.S. on the verso of a partly-printed D.S., 1p. oblong folio, Fort Lincoln, June 1, 1865, an "Inventory and Inspection Report" authorizing the disposal of a number of knapsacks, haversacks and canteens. LeDuc adds his signature to the printed docket on the verso in black ink. Shows original folds, else very good. WITH: WILLIAM R. LEE (1807-1891), A.L.S., 1p. 8vo., Roxbury, Dec. 19, 1863, to attorney John Jeffries, gladly complying with his correspondent's request on behalf of his "...'lady friend'..." He signs at the conclusion in black ink, adding his rank "Col. 20th Rg. Ms. Vol. Inf." Shows mounting remnants to the verso, else very good. WITH: WILLIAM A. LEECH (1832-1870), manuscript N.S., 2pp. 8vo., Bealton, Nov. 17, 1863, providing his attestation for another officer's transfer to the invalid corps. He signs at the bottom of the front sheet in black ink, adding his rank 'Lt. Col." The second sheet bears a true copy of a list of signatures of other officers supporting this transfer. The blank bottom half of the front sheet has been torn off and is missing, shows original folds, else very good. WITH: THOMAS J. LESLIE (1796-1874), partly-printed D.S., 1p. 4to., New York, June 11, 1863, acknowledging the receipt of payroll totaling $40,000, to be disbursed to the Army. Leslie signs at the conclusion in black ink, adding "Paym[aster] U.S. Army". Shows a 1/2" hole at bottom center, not affecting the signature, with original folds and minor toning to the edges, else very good. Ten pieces.
