786. JOHN TYLER Scarce D.S. as President, 1p. folio parchment, Washington, Dec. 16, 1843, a scallop-top ship's passport issued to the "Ship Omega", a vessel of 304 tons with a crew of 28 men. A vandal years ago removed the signature of Secretary of State John C. Calhoun leaving a loss at the bottom of the document, Tyler's bold signature is closely-cut at bottom and three letters are lightened by dampness, engrossment is light. Estimated accordingly. $300-400
