Description:

TUPAC SHAKUR LYRICS FOR "I AIN''T MAD AT CHA"
Excellent set of handwritten working lyrics for verse three of the video version of the track "I Ain''t Mad At Cha", executed in black ink on a 8 1/2" x 11" sheet of notebook paper. These lyrics presented here are virtually the same as those of the final recorded version, in part: "Fatha forgive us 4 livin/Why all my homiez stuck in prison/Barely breathin believin that the world is a prism/It''s like a ghetto we can never leave/A broken rose given bloom thru the cracks of the concrete/So many other thingz 4 us 2 C & thingz 2 be/Our history so full of tragedy and misery/To all my homiez who never made it home/The dead peerz I shed tattoo tears 4 when I''m done/Picture us all inside a ghetto heaven a place 2 rest..." As recorded for the album "All Eyez on Me", the third verse of the track discussed Shakur''s struggles with fame and his negative perception among former associates. The alternate verse presented here was written to tie into the theme of the video, in which Shakur is murdered and returns to earth as an angel, reflecting his meditations on death and the afterlife. Some chipping at the left edge, unsigned, else very good. With an original signed letter of provenance (which has been notarized with others) from the recipient of the lyrics who was given them directly by Tupac in 1995. The two had met while both were recording at Can-Am Studio in Tarzana. They soon became friends, and on one particular occasion, Tupac gave his friend and fellow rapper a group of his working lyrics as a gift.
