33. JONATHAN TRUMBULL (1710-1785) Governor of Connecticut during the American Revolution who was critical in providing necessary supplies to the Continental Army. A.D.S. "Jon'th Trumble" with an additional A.E.S. signed in the text on verso, 1p. 12mo., Lebanon, Dec. 19, 1754, ordering that a payment to be made to John Read be discounted. On the verso Trumbull notes that the payment had been made. Light show-through, else very good. Trumbull signed his name in two different ways during his lifetime: "Trumble" and "Trumbull". $300-400
