THREE FUTURE GENERALS SIGN A PRE-WAR DOCUMENT
Pre-war D.S. signed by GEORGE HUME STEUART (1828 - 1903) and JOHN SEDGEWICK (1813 - 1864), 2pp. folio, 1860, a "Requisition for Ordnance and Ordnance stores...for Company K 1st Cavalry", including "20 horse equipment sets", "60 Horse Brushes", "50 Spurs & Straps", and 100 lbs. of harness leather. On verso, EDWIN VOSE SUMNER (1797 - 1863), responds with a lengthy A.N.S. requesting a revision of the quantities: "It seems to me altogether too large - among other things 20 sets of horse equipments are required when 85 are reported on hand which is all the company is entitled too. E V Sumner Col 1 Cav Comp". Fine condition.

Shipment is sent USPS priority, USPS International Express (for most overseas) or UPS Ground at the auctioneer's option, signature required, unless other arrangements are made. Customer's who supply their own courier account number will still be charged a handling fee.
