THOMAS SIM LEE
(1745-1819) Second and seventh governor of the State of Maryland, as well as a member of the Continental Congress. A.L.S. 2pp. legal folio, George Town, May 16, 1800 to John McClure in Baltimore concerning a large shipment of Tobacco, which Lee inventoried above the opening of the letter. In part: "The Notes for the tobacco as Listed above are sent inclosed, & as fast as the residue of my Crop is Inspected, I will take care to have the Notes forwarded on to you, for the purpose of securing you & the other Gentleman who have done & may do me the favor to indorse my paper for 3000 Dollars..." Light toning from damp stain, usual folds, else very good.

Shipment is sent USPS priority, USPS International Express (for most overseas) or UPS Ground at the auctioneer's option, signature required, unless other arrangements are made. Handling, shipping and insurance charges will be added to the invoice in one entry. Customer's who supply their own courier account number will still be charged a handling fee.
