231. THE WEDDING OF JOHN F. KENNEDY AND JACQUELINE BOUVIER A very rare grouping of items surrounding the wedding of John F. Kennedy and Jacqueline Bouvier at St Mary's Roman Catholic Church in Newport, Rhode Island on Sept. 12, 1953. Included is an original invitation to the wedding of the freshman Massachusetts Senator to his beautiful fiancée, a similarly engraved card permitting admittance to the church, also an engraved notice that the reception shall be held at the Auchincloss' family estate, Hammersmith Farm, and the hand-addressed envelope to: "Mr. & Mrs. David. J. Deignan c/o The Honorable Joseph P. Kennedy" at Hyannisport. Deignan was the elder Kennedy's chauffeur and occasional personal assistant. Also included in the lot is an original, unique photograph of 2 1/2" x 3 1/2" photograph of Jackie in her gown and on the arm of her step-father Hugh Auchincloss as she was led into the church to be wed. All of these items are tastefully matted in olive green with golf fillets and set into a lightly-marbled silver and gilt wood frame. Very fine condition. $1,500-2,000
