Description:

THE KINKS IMMIGRATION APPLICATION An interesting rock item, a file concerning the visa application of The Kinks made for their 1971 tour of the United States. Included are two 8" x 10" promotional photos of the band, a copy of their "Job Offer for Alien Employment" files with the I.N.S., 6pp. 4to., Oct. 13, 1971 in which their agent, Millard Agency, states that the band's job cannot be undertaken by an American band because Millard's efforts show: "...study on industry trends and trade papers looking for musical groups..." failed to turn up another group of suitable talents. The application states that The Kinks will perform on an exchange basis with Harry James and his orchestra (!), lists the band members and their birth dates, and shows seven venues with the fees to be paid to the band. Also included is a telex sent to the U.S. Embassy referencing the visas. Very good.
