(The Dalton Gang A rare newspaper account of a train robbery undertaken by the Dalton Gang, as reported in the Helena Weekly Herald, 6pp., July 21, 1892 The concise page six report concerning a robbery in "Adair, Indian territory' is headlined "Bold Train Robbers'. It read, in part: "...secured the contents of the safe of the Pacific Express Co.... the noted Dalton gang, who are responsible for a large number of similar crimes... two men crawled over the tender, terrorized the engineer... [attack] was immediately made by the members of the gang... drilled the safes and blew them open... forty thousand dollars [stolen] . " Other news concerns vicious miners' strikes, government action, etc. very good condition.
