673. CALEB STRONG (1750-1826) Revolutionary War officer, who organized a colonial force to defeat the British at King's Mountain, first Governor of Kentucky. A.L.S. 1p. 4to., Northampton, Dec. 25, 1790, discusses his son at Andover: "...I assured you that if he was troublesome I would take him away...if you think his longer stay at the Academy would not be advantageous...advise him to bring away all his cloaths and Books..." A small loss at mounting strip on verso affecting about six words, else good to very good. $150-200
