War date A.L.S. as Confederate Vice President, 1p. 4to., Crawfordsville, Ga., July 30, 1862 to Gov. Joseph E. Brown of Georgia, recommending an officer for commission stressing his previous service with the army noting he "was severely wounded in the battle of the 27th Ulto and now getting well..." He is probably referring to the Battle of Gaines' Mill. Usual folds, otherwise very good to fine condition. $200-300
