1817. ST. FAUSTINUS RELIC A relic from St. Faustinus, early Christian church deacon, who was brought before Emperor Hadrian for fearlessly preaching the Gospel in 118 AD. He was tortured, and then beheaded. The relic is housed in a 1" silver and gold oval case with threads and red Vatican seal intact on reverse. Accompanied by an 11" x 8" document of authenticity issued by Archbishop Alexander Petrensis on behalf of Pope Gregory XVI, Vatican, July 1832, bearing a 2" read and white Papal seal. Bidders should note we are selling the document alone, with the relic described as a gift included in the lot. $100-150
