Slocum", 2pp. 8vo., on his personal stationery, Richfield, Aug. 2, [no year], to a certain H. Clay Hale concerning meeting Gen. Upton and veterans. In part: "It would be a great pleasure to me to meet the veterans of the 121 & 152nd [New York Vols] and my old friend Genl [Emory] Upton. If possible I will be with you. I have not yet made my plans for August...although you do not mention the name of Capt. Mills, I was pleased [to] learn through you[r] P. S. that he has returned to you in safety-a matter about which I...had some doubt...". Near fine. $75-100
