JOHN SEDGWICK (1813 - 1864) Union major general wounded at Antietam and Glendale, fought at Chancellorsville and Gettysburg, killed by a sharpshooter while claiming the Confederates wouldn't be able to hit an elephant at such a distance. Signature "J. Sedgwick" on a narrow slip of paper closely-cut from a muster roll. Very good. $150 - 200
