(b. 1944) Long-time member of the Manson Family and a close friend of Lynette ‘Squeaky' Fromme. Good was in jail with Mary Brunner for attempting to use stolen credit cards when the Tate-LaBianca murders took place but was arrested at Spahn Ranch during the August 16th raid. In 1975 Good was sentenced to 15 years for sending death threats and was paroled in 1985. Partial A.L. (unsigned), 2pp. 4to., [Anderson, WV, Aug. 21, 1979] to Charles Manson. Comprising pages 8 and 9 of clearly a much longer letters, Good writes, in part: ‘…Maybe I could hit Wes Hiller up for some Xmas boxes oh yeah, when the 21st century people sent me my book I wrote them a letter about how we were in prison for trying to fix earth balances etc & I talked about you & asked them about the purple spot on your side & if they ever heard of anything like it & what eat to care [for] it & if they would send & it could in your Xmas box. I didn't send the letter cause I felt funny telling those kind of people…Also some woman doctor here loaned me a tape…its called A Meditation of the Heart…one side of the tape is nice music with this creep saying Love you are love bla bla bla. Its total Wed Hiler…The Handbook of Higher Consciousness by Ken Keyes (crippled ex-real estate executive) who runs the Living Love Center in Berkeley…I hate him…I seen a picture in Newsweek & Time Mag of a guy I sort of knew at the Univ. of Oregon. He was president of the student body & he got my roomie pregnant & an abortion. A nice Jewish boy. Carter put him in his cabinet now as Secretary of Transportation…He's a sort of Gov. Brown type & I bet Brown will steal him if Brown gets president…In '61 I had a crush on an Iranian chemist…he told me about veils…I wonder if he went back to Iran to unseat the Shah…'. With the holograph enveloped signed ‘S. Good' in the return address area. WITH: an A.L. (unsigned) in an unknown hand also to Manson and detailing a Christmas package due to arrive to him, as well as another A.L. (unsigned) docketed ‘Red' at top, possibly by LYNETTE FROMME, 1p. 4to., [n.p., n.d.], in part: ‘…The book is called Survival into the 21st Century. It's good on fasting, different diets, sprouting & some good things I'll send you when you want to see it you can make some…'. Three pieces, very good.
