Description:

GIUSEPPE BELLANCA (1886-1960) Italian American aircraft designer and manufacturer, his Miss Veedol aircraft completed the first successful non-stop Pacific crossing. Fine content T.L.S. on his letterhead, 1p. 4to., New Castle, July 7, 1933 to Cesare Sabelli, Bellanca, who with other Italian Americans had long financed Sabelli, clearly has grown impatient with promises of the impending flight. He angrily writes: "...Frankly, we are disappointed in your failure to start on your flight after such a long lapse of time. People in general are beginning to question whether you really have any intention of undertaking the flight...even your friends are becoming very skeptical...there is no reason it should not be undertaken in short order. With this in mind, and to assist you further, we are willing to extend your note... ". Very good. Our estimate is approximate - no records exist for sales of Bellanca's letters. $400-600
