States and Union brigadier general. A great grouping of Hayes material: an A.E.S. "R. B. Hayes" as President on White House stationery 1p. 12mo., [n.p., n.d.], in full: "Col. Slocum [?]: Please give the bearer of this a full hearing, and if practicable, see that he gets a place that it better suited to his health...". With an uncommon full signature on a printed slip reading "Commander in Chief" and his signature on a printed sheet dated 1878 with that of his entire cabinet, including: JOHN SHERMAN, R. W. THOMPSON, WILLIAM M. EVARTS, DAVID M. KEY, CHARLES DAWES, CARL SCHURZ, WILLIAM A. WHEELER, and GEORGE M. MCCRARY.. Attractively presented with burgundy mat and linen accents in a carved gold frame. Three items, very good.
