726. RUSSIAN WORLD WAR II GENERALS AND MARSHALS A fine lot of seven documents in Cyrillic signed by important Russian military figures of World War II. Includes: SERGEI GORSHKOV (1910-1988), Admiral of Fleet (the highest naval rank), D.S. 1965, attesting to Admiral Koshkarev's cooperation; KONSTANTIN VERSHININ (1900-1973), head of Soviet Air Forces, D.S. Aug. 1962 signed "Vershinin". approving an appointment; SEMION TIMOSHENKO (1895-1970), marshal and Commander of Soviet Armies, an interesting war-date D.S., Nov. 15, 1944, on "Head of Baltic Military District", vouching for another officer; RUDION MALINOVSKY (1898-1967), World War II commander and marshal, D.S. Feb. 1948, with lengthy inscription recommending a promotion of an officer; SERGEY BIRYUZOV (1904-1964), World War II marshal and head of Russian Rocket Troops, D.S., Sept. 17, 1962, approving various promotions within the ranks; and PAVEL ROTMISTROV (1901-1982), World War II marshal and tank commander, T.L.S. [n.p., n.d.], evidently sent to a magazine publisher concerning an article. Overall very good to fine condition, seven pieces. Worthy of further research. $400 - 500
